DynamicIDioms: towards visual languages
DynamicIDioms: towards visual languages aims to provide users with a comprehensive tool kit for the development of dynamic visual systems. This is achieved by allowing users to employ different variation mechanisms to manipulate their own graphic elements, which can be uploaded in SVG format.
The tool can be used for free experimentation, which can contribute to finding novel creative possibilities for the development of personal designs and visual identities; or to develop materials that can answer the needs of a specific design request.
The aim of the present project is that, by freely interacting with the system, users become familiar with methods to develop their own visual languages. Moreover, the tool showcases the potentiality of automating design processes on a parametric basis to achieve diverse outcomes capable of maintaining coherence.
DynamicIDioms was developed and conceptualised by Rita Estevinha as part of her Master's Degree Dissertation titled “Computational Tools for the Development of Dynamic Visual Identities" . This dissertation was undertaken in the Design and Multimedia course at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology from the University of Coimbra (PT), under the supervision of João Cunha and Tiago Martins.
